Two <a href=\"https:\/\/rs-ele.tc-r.de\/products\/transformers\/distribution-transformers\/\">transformers<\/a> manufactured by <a href=\"https:\/\/rs-ele.tc-r.de\/rauscher-stoecklin\/\">Rauscher &amp; Stoecklin<\/a> are part of the plant\u2019s energy installation. Getting them to the site required special helicopter transport.<\/p>\n<p>Main technical data of the transformers:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2 pcs 1250 kVA Transformer<\/li>\n<li>including oil retention bag<\/li>\n<li>extra low weight<\/li>\n<li>earthquake safety installation<\/li>\n<li>transport of the Transformers with a Kamov helicopter<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Some specifications of the project:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>biggest solar plant in the Alps<\/li>\n<li>4,872 photovoltaic modules, 10,000 m\u00b2<\/li>\n<li>2 MW power<\/li>\n<li>altitude 2,500 m.a.s.l.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Muttsee dam has a length of 1054 meters, which makes it the longest structure of its kind in Switzerland. The dam is very well suited for a photovoltaic plant, thanks to its:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>orientation (faces south)<\/li>\n<li>altitude (during the winter months \u2013 there is much less fog and much more sun than in the Midlands)<\/li>\n<li>existing infrastructure<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This unique installation site required special conditions of the transformers&#8217; construction to be met. Both units had to be very light in order to be safely delivered by helicopter.
